Leading Professional Firms Sign Up for G1
One of Glasgow’s most prestigious new office developments has signed up two new occupiers.Maclay Murray & Spens (MMS), the commercial law firm, is moving its Glasgow operation to the landmark G1 development in George Square, taking on 40,000 sq ft across three floors.
The move, will see some 240 staff transfer from MMS’current St Vincent Street office.
Magnus Swanson, chief executive of MMS, said: “The new office will offer a significantly enhanced working environment and brings together the unique historical fabric of a stunning building within a thoroughly modern setting and a great address.”
And, Ernst & Young has signed a 15 year lease for over 20,000 sq ft of office space in G1, moving across the Square from May next year.
Hywel Ball, Ernst & Young’s managing partner in Scotland said: “Scotland is critical to the firm’s growth plans in the UK and our investment in new office premises in Glasgow sends out a strong message about our ambitions and commitment to the marketplace.”
Both Ernst & Young and MMS were represented by Cushman & Wakefield. While G1’s developer, HF Developments, was represented by Lambert Smith Hampton.
