New Programme Delivers Success
A new training initiative is delivering a steady stream of fit for purpose candidates to the contact centre industry in Glasgow. Since its launch in May 2008, Contact Training Centre (CTC) has helped its trainees, most of whom have been long term unemployed, secure jobs with beCogent, Bellcom, Capita, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, BCW, National Australia Bank and Citylink.
A recent event was staged at Capita’s offices in St Vincent St to introduce more Glasgow employers to the benefits of the programme.
No costs are involved for employers and the programme delivers high quality, customer focused candidates. CTC works closely with employers to understand their business and all training is provided by Contact Centre professionals in a live contact centre environment.
This programme is a classic example of business, government and non-government agencies working together to create sustainable employment, as part of Glasgow’s Welfare to Work city strategy. One of the candidates who recently completed the programme said, “Since this course I am a much happier person, who has got back confidence. My first two interviews since being on this course went very well for me and I was offered a position the very next day.”
