Barclays has officially opened its
new campus in Tradeston, to house Technology, Operations, and
Functions Teams.
The bank's workforce in Glasgow has grown by over 90% in the
last four years and is on track to have around 5,000 employees by
2023.
The 500,000 sq. ft. site has transformed a brownfield area into
a new city centre park, including indoor and outdoor spaces for
community events. A curated space, "The Street", will
showcase social enterprises and local entrepreneurs. Amenities on
campus will include wellbeing facilities, community exhibition
spaces and a street food market, offering fresh, healthy food
options.
Designed with the future of work in mind, the workspace has
complex lighting systems, smart acoustics, creative spaces and
technology to support hybrid working. The design process ensured
the campus was inclusive to all, with a specific focus on
neurodiversity, through Barclays' partnership with Scottish
Autism.
The campus also includes the latest Barclays Eagle Lab, hosting
members of the Glasgow technology start-up community.
