A £1.2 million contract to complete the Copenhagen office
development in Glasgow's IFSD has been awarded to Clark Contracts
by Allied Irish Bank.
Work on the 65,000 sq ft Grade A office development in Hope
street had been suspended in early 2010 when the original
construction firm entered administration.
Clark Contracts has started on site and the work is scheduled
for completion before the end of 2011.
Situated opposite Glasgow Central rail station, the ten storey
Copenhagen development fuses together two original buildings from
1899. The refurbishment features a glass curtain wall and a two
storey atrium.
Gordon Cunningham, managing director, Clark Contracts, said,
"The design for this development has successfully married the
building's striking architectural features, some of which are
listed, with the modern day convenience of open plan working, in a
high quality environment. We very much look forward to completing
the development which will, without doubt, be a valuable addition
to Glasgow's stock of Grade A office accommodation".
The completion works are being administered on behalf of the
Allied Irish Bank by GVA Ltd.
