Strathclyde
Business School has agreed a partnership with Deloitte,
to provide academic support and expertise to the firm's analytics
projects.
Under the terms of the formal partnership, Strathclyde's clients
will also be able to call upon Deloitte to help implement measures
recommended by Strathclyde analysis.
The partnership will have a specific focus on maintenance
analytics, benefiting companies with complex assets, including
Scotland's energy and utility firms.
Dr Matthew Revie of Strathclyde Business School's management
science department said, "Scottish organisations collect vast
amounts of data, but many miss the opportunity to turn this data
into added value. Our partnership with Deloitte is a perfect way to
combine our strengths in a way which can have tangible effects on
businesses and indeed for companies in any part of the
country."
Dougie McAndrew, head of Deloitte's Analytics business in
Scotland and Northern Ireland, said, "Data is an under-utilised
tool for most companies but we believe it can be immensely powerful
for any organisation if it is applied correctly. By better
understanding patterns and trends in data, it's possible to predict
the behaviour of assets, customers and markets in a way which can
really put companies ahead."
