Glasgow Asset Manager Backs Fundraising Plea for PPE

17 Apr 2020

Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital and a volunteer fundraiser on behalf of Masks for Scotland, has announced the launch of a logistics effort to ensure that PPE is distributed throughout Scotland to frontline staff in the community and is calling for volunteers and Glasgow's businesses to back the campaign.

Masks for Scotland, a charity spearheaded by Jill Belch, Professor of Vascular Medicine at the University of Dundee (pictured), is backed by the actors Joanna Vanderham, Alan Cumming and Brian Cox. It launched on 13th April, urging the public and businesses to donate what they can to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to those working in the frontline during the fight against Coronavirus.  In the first two weeks, the charity surpassed its initial £200k target.

£15 buys a gown and a mask and £100 protects 6 medical staff a day. Donations can be made here.

Angela Higgins said: "We are also appealing for the city's businesses to get behind the campaign, as well as volunteers to take part in the logistics, to deliver masks, gowns and gloves to frontline staff across Scotland".  Angela can be contacted here.
