Swedish bank
Handelsbanken has opened its second branch in Glasgow, in
Finnieston.
St. Vincent Street in Glasgow was the chosen location for
Handelsbanken's first Scottish branch around six years ago and
since then the bank has opened a further nine branches across
Scotland, as part of a UK network now numbering over 200
branches.
The new branch in Finnieston is headed by David Waddell, a
highly experienced senior banker who has previously worked for RBS
and Bank of Scotland. He is joined by Ian Gibson, ex Adam & Co.
and Michael McCuaig, ex RBS and Bank of Scotland.
Handelsbanken's clientele ranges from corporates to SMEs to
personal customers and its rapid growth in the UK is based on the
bank's de-centralised approach, a focus on local decision making
and the building of long term relationships with highly
personalised levels of customer service.
In the EPSI Rating UK 2015, an independent survey of UK bank
customers, Handelsbanken was ranked top for customer satisfaction
and loyalty, for the seventh year running. And, in July 2015,
Bloomberg Markets acclaimed Handelsbanken as one of the strongest
banks in the world, for the fifth year running.
