In more great news for Glasgow, it was announced recently that
one of Scotland's largest private sector employers, Capita plc, is to invest almost
£11 million and create over 200 new jobs in the city.
Capita plc already employs around 5000 people in Scotland in
areas including IT, telecoms, utilities and financial services.
The organisation plans to invest almost £5 million expanding
Capita Customer Management Ltd and a further £6 million growing its
IT services division, resulting in over 200 new jobs across the two
businesses based at Skypark.
Gordon Lee, business development director at Capita plc, said:
"Our presence in Scotland has grown significantly in the last few
years and this investment demonstrates Capita's continued focus in
the country. We look forward to building on this, helping our
customers transform their business delivery, creating even more
jobs in the future and supporting local communities over the coming
years."
Scottish Enterprise chief executive, Lena Wilson, said:
"Capita's decision to invest a further £10.9 million in Scotland is
testament to our strengths in skills and cost effectiveness in the
financial and business services sector to support its high value
operations".
