Proposals for
Atlantic Square, the £70million office led, mixed use
development in the IFSD have taken a major step forward after
planning approval was secured.
This exciting 300,000 sq ft joint venture between
developers BAM and Taylor Clarke will result in high quality office
space, twenty residential apartments and associated retail/leisure
space being built on the site, bounded by York, Argyle and James
Watt Streets.
It will involve three different buildings, a seven storey
office development measuring 80,000 sq ft and a ten storey office
building at 180,000 sq ft with ground floor retail
space in both. The third building will feature high-quality retail
and residential accommodation.
The façade of the listed warehouse buildings on site will
be retained, to link to the site's trading heritage.
Substantial new public realm including feature lighting,
seating areas and high quality planting is also part of the
scheme.
Mark Broderick, development director, BAM Properties,
said: "We believe our proposed development in the heart of
Glasgow's IFSD, with its excellent transport links, is good news
for the city, as it would attract inward investment to Glasgow from
national and international businesses who wish to strengthen their
presence in Scotland."
