One of Glasgow's most iconic buildings, the former Odeon cinema
on Renfield Street, is undergoing a radical transformation by
developer, Carrick Properties. After lying empty for over 10 years,
the well-known property is being converted into 15,000 sq. ft. of
contemporary, Grade A office space, over four floors - with a new
restaurant and retail outlets at ground level.
Due for completion in April and known as "The Reel House", the
former cinema will offer tenants a roof garden, separate private
balcony, and easy access to the diverse amenities in Glasgow
city centre. The category B listed building will also retain a
number of its traditional elements, such as the curved frontage and
canopy, while incorporating new features for future occupiers,
including air conditioning and LED lighting. The services will be
exposed, adding to the contemporary feel.
Knight Frank's Sarah Addis, joint agent with
JLL, said: "We've already seen significant interest in this
exciting, innovative office accommodation. In addition, Red's True
BBQ has already signed up to the ground floor, for its first
restaurant in Scotland. We are very excited to see the finished
product in a few months time."
