24 Jun 2020

Financial services is one of the sectors featured in a new virtual skills academy created by Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) to support young people into employment and apprenticeships throughout the pandemic.

'Get Industry Ready' comprises five on-line sessions throughout July and August, with activities and employability experiences supported by industry.

The first on-line event is on 13th July, so young people interested in attending should register here by 12th July. This event will provide industry insights sessions about the key sectors and career opportunities emerging from Covid-19.

Week two onwards will cover skills needed to start in these sectors and sessions on cyber security, customer service, GDPR, health and safety, life at work and resilience in the workplace. Young people will also get CV feedback from industry professionals and the option of a mock interview session.

A series of information sessions will also be held for parents and carers, helping them support young people taking their next steps from school. The first parents/carers event is on 7th July and those interested in attending should register here.

DYW Glasgow, hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, is teaming up with local industry partners to provide access to relevant employers.
