One hundred secondary school pupils plus teachers will visit
Financial & Business Services firms across Glasgow and
Lanarkshire during Scottish Apprenticeship Week on 19-22 May.
Host firms include esure; Allied International Credit; Morgan
Stanley; JP Morgan; BNP Paribas; Shell; Kwik Fit Insurance;
Santander and Barclays.
On each day, pupils will visit two companies where they will get
an overview of the business and its operation, information on
careers in the sector, recruitment processes, skills &
attitudes expected and a tour. This includes lunch and a
de-briefing session, hosted by Santander, where employers and
existing MAs share their experience.
The tours will create valuable links between schools, pupils and
companies, ensuring school leavers are offered a positive picture
and up-to-date understanding of the F&BS sector across
Glasgow.
Working together on this imaginative initiative is Glasgow
Economic Leadership's Financial and Business Services Workstream,
Skills Development Scotland, Glasgow City Council and other local
authorities.
