The growing
strength of Glasgow's tech sector has been underlined by a recent
series of senior appointments. These include Altia-ABM, the
fintech specialising in investigation and covert management
software, which has appointed a new chief executive
officer.
Rob Sinclair,
formerly chief operating officer, has been promoted to become CEO
of the group, which develops software used by law enforcement
organisations, tax authorities and government agencies in the UK
and across the world.
He succeeds
Ian Watson, co-founder of the company and current CEO since 2013,
who will remain on the board as a non-executive director and
strategic adviser. Altia-ABM has recently expanded its operations
in Australia, Canada, Colombia and Peru.
Data analytics firm Bellrock
Technology has appointed Steve Langmead as its new chairman, as
it gears up to release the next stage of its Lumen
software.
Bellrock, a University of Strathclyde spinout, has also
welcomed a fresh injection of £1 million from long-term investors,
allowing the doubling of its workforce to 16.
Steve Langmead said: "With Lumen, a company can deliver
high-quality data science in minutes and hours, compared to
existing methods that take weeks and months, saving companies
significant costs whilst improving their speed and effectiveness of
decision making."
