Strathclyde organises major fintech conference

'Future of Fintech V' is the fifth annual conference organised by Strathclyde Business School to focus on the practical applications of Financial Technologies.

Staged on October 1st between 1300-1600, this free to attend online event will be launched by Professor Eleanor Shaw, Associate Principal and Head of the Strathclyde Fintech Cluster.
A session on 'The Future of Banking' will be led by Daniel Broby, Director of the Centre for Financial Innovation and Regulation at Strathclyde and a recognised expert on the financial applications of blockchain and distributed ledgers.
Giovanni Caccavello will speak on Open Banking, covering a doctoral research project which examines the emergence of the UK 'Open Banking' innovation ecosystem. Giovanni previously worked as Google Policy Fellow for Google in Milan.
A presentation on 'A Machine Learning Based Early Warning System Boosted by Topological Data Analysis' will be led by Dr Devraj Basu, currently Senior Lecturer in Finance at Strathclyde.
The' online dissemination of financial information' will be covered by Dr James Bowden, a Lecturer in Financial Technology. His research investigates relationships between online financial message board postings and abnormal trading activity in shares listed on AIM.
