Vodafone UK recently announced the creation of 150 jobs at its
Glasgow based customer service centre to join the 50 people already
employed there. It's all part of a significant investment programme
to support this year's launch of Vodafone Connect, which will
provide broadband and home phone services to customers across the
UK. Around 250 more new jobs will be based in the south east of
England.
Jeroen Hoencamp, CEO of Vodafone UK said: "This is a really
exciting move for Vodafone in the UK, as we move our business into
a new phase. Our significant investment is creating hundreds of new
jobs over the next couple of years. We are looking forward to the
year ahead, including our move into offering TV services, as one
which will prove to be a step-change in our customers' lives."
Vodafone's confirmation of new jobs in Glasgow means that, over
the past six months, more than 800 new jobs have been created in
the city's financial and business services sector by employers
including J.P. Morgan, Bibby Financial Services, Rathbone
Investment Management, Post Office Travel Insurance, Aberdein
Considine, Bellpenny Wealth Management, Chase de Vere, Spence &
Partners and Encompass.
