The Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow (IASG) has
released details of two forthcoming events.
First up, on 6th February, is a two hour lunchtime
seminar titled 'Who's Stressing Whom?' Delivered by Mike
Fiszer from Edinburgh Napier University Business School, this
seminar will consider how stress is becoming an increasingly
important health and safety issue, leading to lost time and money
and also the making of claims by stressed employees. The seminar
will discuss how managing stress effectively can also make staff
happier and more productive.
Then, on March 21st, Karen Donald of Mitsui Sumitomo
Insurance will address the emerging area of cyber insurance in a 90
minute lunchtime seminar. In its promotion of the event, the
IASG says, "The benefits of technology are clear; social
networking, cloud computing, internet banking, electronic business
transactions and making the world a neighbourhood through web
access. Granted this has given businesses a bigger scope for
trading all over the world but have we considered the hazards of
this interaction and how this can have an impact on our finances
and reputations?"
Both events are at the IASG's learning centre at the Mitchell
Library in Glasgow. Those interested in attending should visit
