The development of Glasgow's hotels sector continues apace.
A prominent 12 storey office building in Glasgow city centre
could enjoy a new lease of life as a hotel, following its sale to a
joint venture between Curo Property Funds LLP and SCOT
Sheridan.
Jones Lang LaSalle sold Charlotte House on the east side of
Queen Street to the property management and development firms on
behalf of LaSalle Investment Management.
The building is in need of significant refurbishment, to meet
the demands of modern day occupiers.
Ross Burns, of Jones Lang LaSalle's Glasgow office said: "There
was strong demand for the property with 15 bids received,
demonstrating there is appetite and funding for some projects."
And, on the instructions of the receivers of City Site
Investments Ltd, Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels has been appointed to
market Central House for sale.
Full planning consent has been given for a 122-bedroom hotel
conversion of the current property at 50-58 Jamaica Street.
Steven Fyfe, Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, commented: "Central
House is located adjacent to Glasgow Central Rail Station and close
to St Enoch Centre, Buchanan Street and the IFSD."
