IFSDG: How long have you worked in CodeClan?
Adam: I have worked for CodeClan since
March 2016
IFSDG: How many people work at
CodeClan?
Adam: 35 people split across our
Edinburgh / Glasgow centres
IFSDG: What is the vision for CodeClan in
Glasgow?
Adam: CodeClan's vision is to play a
leading role educating and enabling individuals into employment
within Scotland's growing digital economy.
How we will achieve this is primarily through our immersive
16-week Professional Software Development Course targeted at career
changers.
We opened our Glasgow campus at Tontine in January 2017, with 60
students graduating in our first year in Glasgow. In 2018 we aim to
double the volume of graduating students and number of Glasgow
partners looking to hire our graduates. To support this we moved
into Clockwise in March 2018 to support our growth plans for
Glasgow.
IFSDG: What's a typical day for
you?
Adam: In a operations role like mine
there is no typical day - this variety is one of the key reasons I
enjoy it so much.
IFSDG: Why did CodeClan choose to
locate in the IFSD in Glasgow?
Adam: We've had a fantastic response to
our programme from both companies and students in Glasgow, so being
in the heart of the city is important to us from an access and
course operational delivery point of view - we want our students to
be able to get to CodeClan with a minimum of fuss and to provide
the environment that supports the relevant networking activities we
run for our students and industry partners.
IFSDG: Three good things about
working in Glasgow?
Adam: The People certainly do Make
Glasgow, the vibrancy and diversity of the city and the opportunity
the City provides for networking.
IFSDG: What is your biggest business
achievement to date?
Adam: Every day CodeClan is connecting
Scottish companies with relevant and skilled digital talent,
including within a number of Glasgow based FinTech companies.
Winning the Best Education Provider / Training Programme at the
2017 Scottish Digital Tech Awards was pretty good as well!
IFSDG: What is the best investment you
ever made?
Adam: Moving to Glasgow from Sydney with
my wife Alex in 2016.
IFSDG: Which businessperson or company
do you most admire and why?

of how cricket was played and watched around the world in the late
1970s.
IFSDG: What did you want to be when you were
a child?
Adam: An Australian Cricketer - however
recent events have made me thankful for my complete lack of
sporting ability.
