Billy: Currently have a team of 24. We're looking to grow this further by up to 50% in 2018.

IFSD:  What is the vision for Redspire Ltd in Glasgow?

Billy: We want to be the UK's number 1 CRM consultancy focused on Dynamics CRM

IFSD:  What's a typical day for you?

Billy: Up at 6/7am to check emails, in work for 8am to get key tasks done that need maximum brain power and focus. After that it varies between internal meetings around company progress or client projects and other days getting out to see clients and prospects.

IFSD:  Why did Redspire Ltd choose to locate in the IFSD in Glasgow?

Billy: Great network and central location, and being central means the transport links are good for the team.

IFSD: Three good things about working in Glasgow?

Billy:

  1. I really like the vibe of the city, I think there is a great energy.
  2. Fantastic transport links mean you can get anywhere in the country these days by about 10am meaning you can get out and see clients easily.
  3. Great people - our business is based on having a highly motivated and driven team. I find people in Glasgow have that drive, are open and honest and have that entrepreneurial spirit.  Not got the weather though

IFSD:  What is your biggest business achievement to date?

Billy: Taking my Dynamics team from a couple of people to the team they are now, we are one of the top 3 Dynamics CRM providers in the country working with some of the biggest companies in the country.

IFSD:  What is the best investment you ever made?

Billy: Starting my own business, its challenging at times but you know ultimately, you're in control of your own destiny.

IFSD:  Which businessperson or company do you most admire and why?

Billy: It's a bit of a cliché but Richard Branson. He had the passion to start his own business but then the capability to grow it and get a management team in to follow his passion and lead, allowing the business to expand and excel.

IFSD:  What did you want to be when you were a child?

Billy: I never really had an ambition to be something specific when I was younger, I think I just knew I always wanted to push myself and be successful and rich - as I have gotten older I think my definition of what rich means has changed too.

IFSD:  What do you do to relax away from the office?

Billy: I love to golf, ski and cycle, I don't get enough time to do them as much as I'd like but they all get me outside in the countryside and I think that is a great way to relax andclear the head.

Billy: I phone
