Kevin: Since April 2011, so 7
months.
IFSDG: How many people work at Santander
Corporate, Commercial and Business Banking?
Kevin: In the UK, we employ around 1,000 and in Scotland
we have 40 and growing.
IFSDG: What is your vision for Santander
Corporate, Commercial and Business Banking in Glasgow?
Kevin: I want Santander to be the bank of
choice for SMEs and corporate businesses in Scotland. Businesses
undoubtedly face issues accessing the Banking market and, as a Bank
that is consistently growing our lending to the SME market, we want
to speak to all businesses from ambitious owner / managed
businesses to large successful corporates.
IFSDG: What's a typical day for you?
Kevin: Up early and off to Glasgow,
Edinburgh, Newcastle, Belfast or occasionally London. I spend the
day meeting as many customers as I can and then it's back home
usually around 7.30 to 8.00pm, unless there's an evening function
to go to.
IFSDG: How many emails do you receive on
an average day?
Kevin: Far too many - over 100

Kevin: Great facilities, fantastic talent

IFSDG: What is your biggest business
achievement to date?
Kevin: Taking on my current role, working
with a fantastic team.
IFSDG: What is the best investment you
ever made?
Kevin: In a business sense it's the
current investment Santander is making in Scotland,
through developing new talent & growing our
department.
IFSDG: Which business person or company
do you most admire and why?
Kevin: Disney - how could you not admire
a company that has as clear and simple a purpose as "to make people
smile".
IFSDG: What did you want to be when you
were a child?
Kevin: A soldier
IFSDG: What do you do to relax away from
the office?
Kevin: Cycle, or spend time with friends
& family and watch the occasional game of football.
