First coffee meet up brews success

28 Nov 2017

The first informal coffee meet up of The Glasgow Communicators Networking Group was held earlier this month and attended by internal communicators from across the city's financial and business services community.

It's an informal group of professionals established in 2014 by NFU Mutual, with support from IFSD Glasgow. The group has staged several well attended evening events, with an emphasis on encouraging best practice, sharing and development of the profession.

The first coffee meet up aimed to explore ways to build the network of internal communicators, create the opportunity to discuss challenges and successes and stimulate discussion on how to develop internal communications across organisations.

Organisers judged the coffee meet up format so successful that they now plan to stage regular drop in coffee meet ups, as well as their more formal after work events which typically feature expert speakers.

A local Trussell Trust foodbank was also supported by those attending the coffee meet up, bringing in a very healthy level of donations.
