The future of Fintech is the subject of an exciting new event
organised by Strathclyde Business School. It takes place on 2nd
September 2016 from 10am - 4pm at the Technology & Innovation
Centre, 99 George Street, Glasgow.
The financial services industry is being transformed by
innovative, disruptive technologies. Last year saw £10bn invested
globally in Fintech start-ups. The digitalisation of financial
transactions has both commercial and regulatory implications and it
impacts all aspects of capital markets from transactions,
settlements through to fund raising. The symposium aims to
demystify the technology and identify the opportunities that will
arise.
Among the topics to be covered are Financial Challenges Driven
by Technology, Digital currency: Business opportunities within
blockchain technology, Regulatory challenges, a Venture
Capitalist's view of investing in Fintech and the Future of
Technology and Payments.
Supported by IFSD Glasgow and Scottish Financial Enterprise, the
event will also feature the launch of the refreshed Skills
Investment Plan for Scotland's Financial Services sector. It sets
out a framework for the sector to fulfil its skills needs, with
Fintech one of the themes at the heart of the plan.
Attendance is free. Registration is required here and any
