An iconic Art Deco cinema on West Regent Street has found a
new lease of life as 'The Reel House'
offering commercial office space.
The former Odeon cinema, which closed in 2006, was purchased
in 2016 by Carrick Properties. Now, it offers four floors of Grade
A offices, including an extensive third floor balcony,
The refurbishment, carried out by Ryder Architecture, means
the category B listed building has retained many traditional
elements, offering over 14,000 sq. ft. of flexible, open-plan
workspace, with a rental value of £22.50 per sq. ft.
Originally opened in 1934, the building has long been one of
Glasgow's most popular venues. In between film screenings, it also
hosted concerts by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Dusty
Springfield, Johnny Cash and The Rolling Stones.
Knight Frank and
JLL are joint letting agents.
Sarah Addis, Associate at Knight Frank, said: "The Reel House
is steeped in history and remains as iconic as ever. The renovation
has created a stylish, contemporary, flexible workspace. Given the
quality of the refurbishment, its central position and the lack of
Grade A office accommodation of its kind currently available in
Glasgow, we anticipate occupiers will be captivated by the
space."
