With the preparations for this summer's Commonwealth Games
gathering pace, Glasgow City Council has launched Get Ready
Glasgow. It's a new initiative to keep businesses in the IFSD and
across the whole of the city informed about preparations for the
Games.
Get Ready Glasgow is the umbrella brand for all the work being
carried out to keep the city functioning in the lead up to and
during the Games and making sure the city is prepared to welcome
athletes and visitors from around the world.
Planning teams have been established to assess what impact the
Games' events will have on the services that the council provides
to businesses and residents in their day-to-day lives.
Key areas include traffic and transport, business continuity,
licensing, regulatory approvals and safety and security.
The website www.getreadyglasgow.com
will be a one-stop-shop to obtain the most up-to-date information
about the impact of the Games on the city. It's packed full of
useful information, advice and tips for businesses and will be
updated frequently.
In addition, a citywide newsletter is
being distributed to every house and business in Glasgow. An
electronic version can be viewed
here.
