Barclays has marked
the next milestone in the development of its state-of-the art
Glasgow campus with the opening of its Campus Gateway.
The Gateway provides a facility to support Barclays'
community partnerships in Glasgow and the west of Scotland, in
addition to a dedicated project workspace. The exhibition and
meeting area will host events and workshops, like those of the
bank's employability programme, LifeSkills.
Also featured is a new model of the development (pictured)
at
Buchanan Wharf with videos and time lapse footage for members
of the public to see what the final site will look like, as well as
a history of the local area.
Supported by Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Council,
the Campus Gateway is the latest stage in the project at Tradeston,
Glasgow, which will transform the south bank of the River Clyde and
create up to 2,500 new jobs in a world class working environment
for the bank's functions, technology and operations
teams.
Scott Stewart, Barclays Scotland site lead said, "The
Gateway offers a facility for us to deliver our community
partnership, diversity & inclusion and employability work and
also to share the vision and progress of the development with
members of the public."
