The 120-room Village The Hotel Club Glasgow will open at Pacific Quay this month, while the 170-room Travel Lodge will open its doors on Queen Street in the city centre later in the summer and the 101-room ibis Styles Hotel located in the heart of city's Merchant City is scheduled to open in October.

"This combined investment of more than £20million is the perfect bellwether for anyone interested in how Glasgow's tourism industry is performing."

The news coincided with the release of new business tourism figures which showcased almost £75million worth of conference business in the first six months of 2015, as the city's global profile continues to soar.
