BAM Properties has secured planning permission from Glasgow City
Council to build a £70m office building at 110 Queen St.
The developer is currently seeking pre-lets for the building
which could be ready for occupation in 2014, offering high quality
Grade A office accommodation and four retail units.
Work will start with the demolition of the existing 1960s office
block on the site, located opposite the Gallery of Modern Art.
Designed by architects Cooper Cromar, the building will have a
sleek, contemporary, curved glass façade and will offer
state-of-the-art office space across eight floors, covering 143,000
sq ft in total.
The ground and mezzanine levels will feature retail/leisure
units spanning a further 23,000 sq ft, accessed from Ingram
Street.
Phil Reid of property agents Phil Reid Associates said: "This is
great news for the Glasgow market. The fabulous new building at 110
Queen Street is in a fantastic location, appealing to occupiers
looking for genuinely top class, efficient large floor plate office
accommodation."
The developers are aiming to secure a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating
for the building.
